Andiz Christmas shakers

Here is an idea for something different!

Christmas cards that do something!

This one even smells nice!
To make the shaker box you will need a piece of A5 card.
Lightly draw out with a pencil a 2½ inch square against the longest edge of the card leaving a ½ inch space on the short edge and then follow the basic design below. You should be able to get two shaker boxes from a piece of A5 card.
See diagram below on how to draw and cut out.

I have used metallic gauze in the 'JOY' card and the same material to make a ribbon and bow behind which is scented vermiculite.
I cut a piece of gauze 2½ inches square and glued it to the inside of the box before folding together. The bow and ribbon were then added.
Before the box was sealed, I added a teaspoon full of scented vermiculite*.
I found a piece of textured paper and trimmed it with edging scissors approximately ¼ inch bigger than the box and glued it to the card stock.
The box was then glued on to the background textured paper..
*Vermiculite can be bought from any garden centre. All you have to do is add a few drops of scented oil to a couple of tablespoons full and leave it in a sealed poly bag for a couple of days giving it a shake now and again and you have a long lasting, versatile potpourri.
Another small piece of the textured paper was cut and I found the word 'JOY' from and old Christmas card which was cut out with a craft knife and glued into position.
The little tree was a peel-off stuck onto card, cut out and then mounted on foam sticky pad to give a three dimensional effect.
The snowman was made in a similar way but I used shiny ribbon for the background and a little wooden embellishment stuck in the middle of the box. I also added a teaspoon full of silvery glitter before it was sealed behind a piece of cellophane stuck to the inside. Hey presto - snow storm!
